I promised a review once I had a chance to wring the frame out so now, after 3 years, I can write an honest and complete review. Bottom line is I love the frame. It is nimble without being nervous, and pretty comfortable on singletrack. Climbs great (as you'd expect from a hardtail.) I love the top mount chainstay on the drive side - makes for no (minimal) chain slap which makes for a very quiet ride on all sorts of terrain. Frame is rock solid - no issues over the last few years. Matte finish is holding up great. Easy to build up and no fitment issues of any kind. There are only two negatives, both of which are minor - I'd like a higher bottom bracket, and I'd prefer a threaded bottom bracket rather than a press fit (but no real issue if you're willing to spring for a threaded shell.) Overall, a nearly perfect bike for my deci... More

The frame is a head-turner! I've had people pull up aside me on the highway to ask where the frame was from. This is the 27.5+ hardtail dream, and it's a blast to ride.

This 21" frame assembled faultlessly. Perfect rear wheel alignment and plenty (~20mm) of 2.8" wide tyre clearance on 27.5" rims. Just large enough for my 6' 7" bones. Very pleased with how the hub gear squeezed in.

This is the 3rd DIY Carbon bike I have built for my family and the first for me. When trek discontinued their Carbon Stache I immediately purchased one from DIY. Shipping took longer than expected but with Covid and the shipping issues I was just glad to get it. I have 300 hard single speed miles on it and it is solid. I run 2.6 plus 29” Maxxis rekon tires so not the lightest build but this bike does exactly what i want it to do. It literally goes anywhere. Thanks Ty I will be back!

Love this frame!!! was the base of my first ever build, and the first of many purchases from Ty and DCB. It is extremely stiff and light. Used this frame for 2 years and it is bomb proof, I took this to Moab last spring and it handled like a champ and survived some nasty crashes, including one that broke my derailer. I got my uncle hooked onto the frame when he came out to visit and we are building a bike with this at its heart. I highly recommend, Just make sure you install some BB protection or you will regret it. Also love the chain stay being above the chain. Also watch that BB mine started to walk out after Moab. definitely worth every cent.

Went w/ 29x3.0 tires with pike shock and still at 25#. Have a bit over 500 miles on it and no issues. Built it for a bikepacking trip, but after training on it, this has become my new endurance racer. I love the geometry and its super comfy! Also went w/ the DIYCarbon wheels as the other brand was going to take much longer to arrive; no regrets. I’ve ridden this bike HARD and everything is holding just fine. Love this build. Customer service and specs are on point. This build is similar to the Trek Stache - 29+ - this is a fun ride well equipped to XC to Moderate single track riding. - steverojas1@mac.com

Despite the time delay to get the frame from China during an epidemic, which is out of everyone’s hands, the process was smooth. I bugged Ty about every week asking where the frame is so I’m sure that got a bit old for him, but he kept answering my questions and reassume it’s on the way. Maiden voyage today and I have to say this bike is exactly what I wanted, just enough XC and just enough trail. If you have the time to wait and the know how to put bike together, this is a no brainer. Say hello to Alastor

This bike was my first build and it was a bit of a learning experience. You'll need a 42/52 headset, and the rear axle requires 12mm x 180mm with 1.5mm thread pitch. In the end, I absolutely love this bike. I built it as a single-speed with dropper seat-post and 120mm fork and it weighs only 22.8 lbs. So light and stiff that it has given me a new appreciation for MTB. My new go-to bike since faster than by FS trailbike. Great purchase and Ty was very supportive.
